If you've always wanted to purchase a robot vacuum, now is the time. CNET's top-rated models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with savings of up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping, with app-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.
1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba J7+, iRobot's most advanced robot to date is the Roomba j7+. Its biggest advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle detection system. It uses AI to recognize objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's also the first robot to automatically send you a photo of the object it comes across so that you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo j7+ is also the best robot to mop we've ever tested, removing spills and dirt with ease and leaving no trace that it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app which allows you to schedule cleaning times and create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't vacuum areas you don't want it to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop by speaking to it.
Its design is also a step above the competition with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy robotic rather than a loud, loud one. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying and is ideal to reduce the time spent cleaning.
In our tests, we observed that the j7+ swiftly took away dirt, dust, and hair from pets. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one spot rather than sending it scattering across the floor. It even managed to catch small gravel and sand which other robots can't. It did this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.
While it's not quite as efficient as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Auto-Emptying Vacuum, and it's not able to clean stairs, the J7+ is an excellent option for those who require both mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not too expensive, and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly.
While the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however we've found it be less reliable than other apps that utilize robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell whether the update actually working until you've seen it in the action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that does more than just clean your floors, a hybrid is the best choice. These bots are equipped with a water tank so they can mop and vacuum at the same time. They also come with a variety of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance and even the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. The downside is that they can be pricey at full retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.

Roborock is one of our most loved robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and while it lacks some of the premium features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save hundreds of dollars.
The Q5+ is remarkably soft when it comes to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it an ideal option for homes with many furniture pieces. It's also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. vacuum deals is a place where most robot vacuums of lower quality fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is also superb, with only a few mishaps on walls and corners.
The Q5+, just like other Roborock products can be controlled with just a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock App. With the app you can start and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and alter your home map, or change the labels of rooms.
If you decide to go with the Q5+, it ships with a new auto-empty dock that's designed specifically to make this robot simple to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once in place it can be accomplished easily. It has a large LCD screen, which is useful for setting up schedules or changing settings. This feature isn't essential for the majority of people, however it can help you to keep the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both mopping and vacuuming. Its design and functionality are among the most advanced available however, it's also expensive.
The base station is attractive and is hidden when it's not in use, and the dimensions are quite small. But the station's main selling feature is the way it automatizes numerous tasks and functions that most other robots leave up to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot clean and charged.
And its vacuuming is impressive and efficient, too. It's the only robot vacuum I've used that has done an excellent job of removing debris from bare floors. It's also not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robot vacuums. This means it can get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's not able to navigate stairs as well as competitors, and it doesn't have a dock that allows you to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who want an automated vacuum that can do everything.
If you're looking to save money or don't want to think about the limitations of this robot there are many other options available, including a lot of eufy models that cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for instance, is cheaper, but offers more features, including stairs and a fully-function Dock, with an improved overall experience when vacuuming on plain floors carpets, low-pile carpets as well as high-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of producing robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for carpets and hard flooring, and mopping capabilities at an affordable price. It's easy to set it up, simply connect one of the side brush and then turn it on. Then plug in your charging dock. The app guides you through a few steps to connect it to Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be placed near an outlet with plenty of room to move.
The G30 is a tiny device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, so it is able to fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is less ostentatious when compared to rival models. It features a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern over two minutes) Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The way in which the G30 cleans is what separates it from its competitors. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of immovable objects in its path and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and what it isn't able to access. It will return to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning the area it left.
The sleek G30 has its flaws however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges more quickly and has the same battery life, while providing better performance on bare floors and carpets with low pile. It also comes with a larger dust bin that doesn't need to be emptied as often and comes with an array of boundary strips to keep it away from certain areas. The G30 however, is more affordable and is much easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container does not require emptying as often and it has less trouble with bulky material such as cereal.
